Blogging Communications
While blogging, I found it interesting to read other people's posts to get their insights. I can relate to some of their posts, but then I learn a lot more from others. I get to read how they are feeling while they are doing the exercise, and how it relates to how I feel, or I get a totally new insight of how they feel.
I found it helpful after I blogged about each exercise because it got me thinking about what I did, and what I could have done. It's a really good hands on experience, and these exercises will definitely help us in the future.
This was also a great way to boost up our grades! If we didn't do so well on a test, and did all of the blogging assignments, we could still get a B/B+ on our final grade.
Of course blogging, was fun, but then I don't think that I will continue blogging. There's really not much to say about anything, besides the activities that we did. But overall, this was a great experience. Blogging should still a part of this class, and nothing should change about it.

The Power of Vision
I have to admit, this video was very, very, very corney. Even though there was some truth in the video, it was very.... unique.
A vision I have for myself in the future is to start working in the marketing field. Actions that I will take is to try and do good in all my classes, and then get some internships so I can learn some tricks in the trade.
I know it is easy just to say all of this, and it is harder to take action. There are so many things that get in a way, internally and externally. You can start procrastinating, and not want to work. Or something can happen, and your work will be delayed. But in the end, it is all on you, so I guess as long as we get our work done, it will be fine.

Rules of the Game
During the assignment for decision making, there was indeed a lot of chaos. There was a lot of shouting, a lot of disagreement, and a lot of people trying to get their way.
I personally was the avoidance type. I didn't want to get involved any any types of disputes with anyone, and kept my opinion to myself. What I saw around me was a lot of the females in the class getting up to take the leadership role. There were a few "compete to win" disputes, but then at the end they all compromised for an equal agreement. There were a few of people that had the same agreements, and they coll berated with each other to try to get their way, but they either got shot down by our professor not agreeing to the idea, or the rest of the class not agree with it.
Now that we know that it was all an activity, I think that there are better ways that we could have handled the situation. We could have all given out thoughts on each of the things we wanted to change, and if we all liked it, we can keep it. But instead of that, we all just kept arguing with each other. Well, now we know how we can handle the situation next time.

Saving The egg!
For this lesson, we had to drop an egg from a certain height, and make sure it don't crack when it hits the bucket. We had 9 straws and around 2 feet of tape.
In the 5 steps of planning, I personally think that my group skimmed through step 1 really quickly. We knew we wanted to be successful, and we knew that we had 25 mins to plan this and 10 mins to make it. We also skimmed through step 2. We didn't plan out who was gonna do what. We just did what everyone else was doing, trying to design the device that will protect our egg and then make it happen. We ended up rushing the design stage, because we all forgot about it till the last 2 mins. For step 3, we spent a bit more time than the first two steps. We thought of a few ideas, and then went with the easiest one. I guess our device had a strong base, but the sides were left kind of unprotected. For step 4, as I explained earlier, we choose the easiest design, and we all just rushed on trying to build the protection device. I guess we didn't do that well of a job deciding who would do what. For step 5, we all knew that we were going to finish on time, but we didn't really know about the quality of our work. We went over it a few times with the extra time we had, and we thought that it was perfectly fine. But when we actually went up and dropped the egg, it cracked. At first we thought that it was perfectly fine, and we succeeded, only to find out a few short seconds later, that our precious egg has cracked.
I guess our planning for the device was decent. We did everything we wanted to, and the device came out kind of like how we wanted it to. The only downfall of our planning was that we did not give each other individual roles, and I guess that wasted some time. But in the end, it was fun, we got to know what kind of people we work as when we are put under pressure.

Culture Shock
Not one culture is the same as another. You can experience this though movies, tv shows, and even the music that we listen to. I was born and raised in Manhattan, so when I went back to Hong Kong, the environment was totally different. The food there was a lot less greaser, and the people were a lot more friendlier. They are a lot less rude, and actually apologize when they bump into you. Compared to New York, they give a lot more respect. I guess America just has a major pride issue. Chinese pop and American pop music is also totally different. And the difference between the nightlife! In New York, the nightlife usually ends at around 4ish or 5ish, but in Hong Kong, everything ends earlier.
The biggest cultural difference I found was that they respect their parents with a lot more respect than we do. With us, it's like we do whatever we want, we talk back to our parents and yell at them, but there, they hold back. They treat their parents with a lot more respect than we do.
